Our Faith and Prayers.
As she passed by her son's room, the mother noticed him kneeling in prayer. It was a sight that filled her with a sense of pride and curiosity. However, she couldn't help but hear him repeating one word over and over again: "Tokyo," he prayed, "Tokyo, Tokyo."
This wasn’t the typical prayer she expected to hear, and it piqued her curiosity. Was it a new mantra or perhaps a game with his friends? Puzzled by this unusual prayer and eager to understand its meaning, she decided to bring it up casually during dinner.
"What were you praying about earlier?" she asked gently, hoping to unravel the mystery. Her son looked up, slightly embarrassed, and hesitated before confessing. "Oh," he replied, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink, "we had a geography exam today, and I was praying that God would make Tokyo the capital of France."
God should be seen as a support, guide, or inspiration, but not as someone who will do the work for us. Praying for things that we can achieve on our own is avoiding responsibility and treating God lightly. While faith is a powerful force, we must recognize our own role in shaping our lives. True faith involves collaboration between divine inspiration and personal effort.
"Trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be but never cease in striving to be where He calls you next." - St. Teresa of Ávila
