Don’t forget the most important thing
Guests come to a hotel where the elevator doesn’t work and the only rooms for rent are on the 30th floor. They decide to take the stairs, and to make the time pass faster, they tell each other stories along the way.
The first ten floors are sad stories, the second ten are horror stories, and the next ten are happy stories. They reach the 29th floor and it turns out that there is nothing left to tell.
“Does anyone have any more stories,” someone asks. “I do,” one answers, “but a sad one. Very sad.
We left the keys to our rooms at the reception desk.”
Sometimes, we focus so much on something that we can easily miss much more important things. The hustle and bustle of Christmas is necessary, but we must be aware that it is part of something bigger. We celebrate Christmas! In our busy lives, we should not forget why and for whom we do it, and in the context of these holidays, faith and family should be the prevailing values.
It is Jesus whom you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you. - St. John Paul II
